Robust nonlinear adaptive control of multiphase synchronous buck power converters

The problemofcontrollingmultiphasesynchronousbuckpowerconvertersisconsidered.Theaimsare to regulatetheoutputvoltageoftheconverterandtoensureadequatecurrentsharingbetweenits different channels.Usingthebacksteppingtechnique,anadaptivecontrollerisdesignedbasedona large-signal bilinearmodelofthewholemulti-channelconverter.Aparameterprojectionisusedto ensurethattheobtainedadaptivecontrollerisrobusttoparasiticresistances.Thecontrollerisformally shown tomeettheobjectivesofclosed-loopasymptoticstability,outputreferencetracking,andequal load sharing.Theattractionregiondependsontheuncertainparasiticimpedancesize,withthe attraction regionbeinglargerforsmallerparasiticimpedances.Intheidealcaseofnoparasitic impedances,theclosed-loopasymptoticstabilityisglobal.Thesetheoreticalresultsareconfirmedby simulation.
