Some criteria for evaluating physical modeling schemes in the context of music creation

In the context of the musical uses of Physically-based modeling, there is a need for generic algorithms and standard methodologies. The choice of such a Physically-based modeling scheme can dramatically impact the easiness in modeling, the quality of the produced sound, the relevance of the environments dedicated to musicians. An overall understanding of the specificities of the various schemes available is needed. To that aim, this article proposes 10 criteria.
