The sound signature of linear viscoelastic materials

Frequency-damping constant relationship for normal modes of linear isotropic resonators are derived from various viscoelastic constitutive equations. As an invariant of the material, this frequency-damping relationhip is then used in Physical Modeling sound synthesis, in order to represent an arbitrary shaped material.
