Publishing After a Decade of Democracy

This text is presented as evidence of a major player in the publishing world in South Africa. The author traces the major changes in this world since 1994. His overall conclusion remains relatively pessimistic insofar as it emphasizes the inability of the sector to transform itself to allow both blacks access to positions of responsibility but also a corpus of works, particularly in African languages, to be published. He advocates a much more interventionist approach from the South African government.
