On the seismogenic increase of the ratio of the ULF geomagnetic field components

► The reliability of magnetic ratio changes as earthquake precursors are investigated. ► Nine cases are considered which include seventeen earthquakes. ► In the analysis running averages of the ΣKp geomagnetic index are taken into account. ► These increases are actually caused by the normal geomagnetic activity variation.
