About Britton Self-Humour - "Tout est bon dans le Breton" Since the 1990s, various media (textiles, postcards, etc.) have been featuring the growing and all-encompassing trend of self-deprecating humor in Brittany. Such humor is on the one hand characterised by its generalisations and motivated by profit, on the other. While it claims to be innovative, in fact it essentially taps into an old seam. Its commercial success is due to the global and local context in which it is expressed.

Depuis les années 1990 un humour d'autodérision se développe à profusion en Bretagne sur divers supports (textiles et cartes postales, notamment). Il a pour caractéristiques d'être généralisant, d'une part, et mû par des buts lucratifs, d'autre part. Se présentant volontiers comme novateur, il ne fait cependant, pour l'essentiel, qu'exploiter une veine ancienne. Son succès commercial s'explique par le contexte global et local dans lequel il s'exprime.
