Potentiometric characterization of cyclodextrin inclusion complexes of local anesthetics

The complexation of several local anesthetics by  and -cyclodextrins was studied by potentiometry with glass electrode. Tetracaine and dibucaine complexation constants were determined at 25ºC in the presence of 0.1 M of NaCl. It was found that prilocaine and lidocaine complexes cannot be detected.
