| Many innovative solutions have been developed recently by the aeronautical sector towards achieving the future "sustainable" aircraft. In this context, the Electrical Flight Control System (EFCS) design objectives, originating for example from structural loads design constraints, are becoming more and more stringent. In termss of fault or failure detection, this means that the minimum detectable amplitude and the detection time must be decreased. Several EFCS-failure cases may have an influence on structural loads. This paper will present the Airbus efforts towards advanced Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) of three of them for achieving the aforementioned rigorous detection objectives. Robust model-based FDD scheme will be presented for early detection of EFCS-failure cases, as well as their application in a real-time environment and the results obtained during industrial validation campaigns. |
