First Principles Landau Theory of symmetry breaking

Starting with a model of electrons interacting with point like nuclear charges I develop an approximate but parameter free and quantitative method for calculating the coefficients in a Landau theory of symmetry breaking in solids.I point out that these arguments can be used to generate classical density functional theories for emergent classical variables such as the order parameters used to describe symmetry breaking.
