Why are under-constrained systems not that bad

Résumé

Under-constrained geometric constraint systems are often considered as mis-constrained systems which have to be corrected by a completion mechanism. We expose here some works performed in our team and where under-constrained systems are considered as a wish of the designer or a step in order to solve a well-constrained system.
