MODELISATION DES CHAMPS AU SEIN DES MATERIAUX HETEROGENES EN UTILISANT XFEM: CAS DE L'ARGILITE DE MEUSE-Haute Marne

Modelling the stresses-strains fields in the case of the Meuse-Haute Marne argillite with XFEM is proposed in this paper. This technique seems appropriate because no remeshing is needed even in cases of complex microstructures. The geomaterial considered here with a polycrystalline microstructure (grain to grain) is modeled by a Voronoi tessellation. The disparity of the orientation and the grain size of this representation allow determining the incompatibility of the deformations and stresses between neighbour grains of calcite/quartz or argillaceous by using the XEM. This incompatibility of the deformations and stresses sometimes give rise to very high gradients which can be the preferential sites of the initiation and development of nonlinear behavior.
