This report synthetizes on one hand the available stratigraphic and sedimentological data on the Oriente Basin of Ecuador, and on the other hand, the new data obtained during field work carried out in the subandean zone between 1993 and 1996. As a conclusion, a new biozonation of the Cretaceous-paleogene succession and a sedimentological model for the deposits of the Oriente Basin are proposed.
