L OGUS is a spoken language understanding system usable in a man-machine dialogue. It is based on a logical approach where various formalisms are used, in order to achieve a robust but generic and extensible system. Implementation of a context-sensitive un- derstanding is the main topic of this paper. Processing and tests were carried out from a hotel reservation corpus which was recorded and annotated as part of the work handled by the technolangue consortium'sM EDIA subgroup. This paper also describes the various questions raised and conclusions drawn from such an experiment, as well as the results achieved by the system for anaphora resolution. This experiment shows that the formalism used in order to represent the meaning of the utterances is relevant for anaphora resolution and in-context understanding.
