THE MODERATING EFFECT OF SLACK RESOURCES ON THE RELATION BETWEEN QM AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING

Recent literature in the strategic management field suggests that firms must learn to re-bundle internal competencies and resources in order to achieve competitive advantages. This paper examines how firms employ slack resources to enhance the relationship between quality management (QM) and organizational learning to obtain sustainable competitive advantages. Using empirical data gathered from 202 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), the findings support the hypotheses that: 1) a strong connection exists between organizational learning and QM; 2) and how the relation between organizational learning and QM is moderated by slack resources
