A multilevel technical data model for production planning

A generic model for production planning based on multi-level technical data (products, tasks, processes and resources) is presented. The model is recursive and guarantees the global consistency of multi-level planning and workload assignment scenarios. The paper also focuses on model instantiation by considering an industrial case from wood transformation sector. Finally the use of the technical data model for hierarchical planning through multi-echelon linear programming is presented.
