Analytical redundancy and reliability of measurements system

Abstract

I this article, the authors present an original method for quantifying the reliability of an industrial instrumental system architecture. The model of the process is considered under steady state conditions with linear mass balance equations. The results of this analysis allows the determination of the optimal sensor placements to maximise instrumental architecture reliability with respect to the amount of data needed to control and maintain the process.
