Universaux spatiaux et gestuels des tape-mains

Résumé

In the children folklore, hand-clapping games are mainly used by girls aged between six and ten years old. These games were observed in many European countries such as France, Italy, Spain, UK, but also US, Australia or Chile. Many researchers such as J.-Hubbard [1982], A. Arleo [1997, 1998] or C. Chauvin [1999] have provided multimodal transcriptions of these games, including music, speech and gestures. These descriptions reveal common linguistic, spatial and gestural features that are observed in various versions of a given game but also among different games. This talk aims at introducing the hand-clapping games universals concerning the spatial configuration of the children, the use of " handclapping patterns " as well as the chosen frequency for the gestural units. For this, fifteen hand-clapping games recorded in many elementary schools of the French Rhône-Alpes Region will be studied, as well as other children game already published and presented in the literature.
