On pseudo-random subsets of the set of the integers not exceeding N

The notion of pseudo-randomness of subsets of { 1,2,.... ,N} is defined, and the measures of pseudo-randomness are introduced. Then three special examples are studied. In two cases it turns out that the subset in question possesses strong pseudo-random properties, while the third example is a negative one.
