We give a more simple proof of slightly improved (and explicit) versions of the main results of two recent papers (with S. David) concerning the distribution of points of small height on a power of the multiplicative groups. We also provide a very precise lower bound for the normalized height of an hypersurface of Gm^n with discrete satibilizer.
